This antique photo frame brooch from France is of an unknown, unmarked metal. There is no protective covering over the photo. The floral scrollwork border is reminiscent of the Art Nouveau era. The photo is most likely original to the brooch.
The piece measures approximately 1" and has a C clasp closure. C clasps were most popularly in use between 1850-1910, and I am dating this brooch as being circa 1910 or a bit earlier.
*Care should be taken if one were to lift the prongs on the back.
