This hammered brass souvenir plate is from Insel Mainau, which lies off the coast of Lake Constance in southwest Germany. The lake shares borders with Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
This 6.25" in diameter plate has the words "Insel Mainav" (Mainu Island) incised and a fish and waves in relief. Bubbles emanating from the fish's mouth are also incised into the brass.
