This vintage 1" Touring Club de France pin/badge is probably circa early 1900s. The organization was founded in 1891 and disbanded in 1983. It was dedicated to the development of tourism in France and created during "tourism's cycling era," according to the June 21, 1964 article in the New York Times.
The pin is comprised of an unknown metal with a design of spokes and the letters TCF in blue, white and red enamel overlapping in the center. The back's pin closure works.
****Please note there is some pitting to the enamel on the letters TCF. Please examine the photos carefully and do let me know if you need more as I'll be happy to oblige.
