This soldier's ID bracelet from France bears his name-- Guy Trottereau and his birthdate of Oct. 11, 1929 in Muides. Indeed, a record of his birth and death can be found online. It reads:
Guy Michel Trottereau
Birth
11 oct. 1929 (11 Oct 1929) Muides-Sur-Loire, Loir-et-Cher, France
Death
28 oct. 1997 (28 Oct 1997) Muides-Sur-Loire, Loir-et-Cher, France
Although he was too young to legally enlist for WWII, maybe he was in the First Indochina War, but I have not been able to find his military records.
There are two bullets and a religious medal attached to the bracelet. It is approximately 8.5" in length, from end to end, not counting the bullet at the one end in the measurement. There is a separate round, spring ring that was attached at a later time. It can be moved to shorten or lengthen the bracelet.
Condition: Please note there is significant rust. I've not attempted to clean this but will leave it up to the discretion of the new owner.
