Publisher's binding in full fawn sheepskin, 28.5 x 23 cm. Flats stamped with concentric circles. Gilt title. Abundant iconography in black and white from the author's collection and the collection funds of Mademoiselle Chas Laborde, Doctor Avallon, Jacques Delarue, Dignimont, Doctor Jacques Lacassagne (who wrote the preface) and Marcel Montarron. The archives of the Bibliothèque Nationale de France and the Carnavalet Museum were also used. Numerous photographs by Baudelaire, Beigue, Brodsky, Bulloz, Michel Delarue, Doisneau, Giraudon, Marc Vaux, R. Viollet, and Vizzavona.

*****Condition: Front and especially back covers have significant climate staining with rubbed edges. The spine, although smooth, exhibits the most fading with staining.
