This French Empire/Neoclassical style door knocker is circa 1800s and measures 4.25" x 2.75" at its widest. It is comprised of a lion's head and circular knocker. There are two holes on either side of the lion's jaw, visible from the back, by which to hang the knocker. I believe it to be brass in composition, and it does have a patina.
