$99.00 $110.00

This 9.5 mm reel of "Easy Street" or "Charlot Policeman" (in France), starring Charlie Chaplin, was manufactured by Pathé.

In 1894, Charles Pathé opened his first shop in Paris, dedicated to phonograph sales. In 1896, Charles and Émile Pathé opened Pathé Frères, a shop specializing in the sale of phonographs and film equipment. See https://pathe.com/en/pathe/ for more information on the intervening years. In 1922, Pathé-Baby was formed, dedicated to the idea of "cinema at home." Pathé is still operating today.

"Easy Street" tells the story of a derelict who is inspired by a pastor's sermon and becomes a policeman in an area fraught with gang warfare.

Run time is 24 minutes for this silent film. French intertitles.

The film is celluloid and has the characteristic odor.

I've not unspooled the entire reel nor do I have a projector to run it.
