*****Usage: I believe this to be tin-glazed earthenware so I would not use this pitcher for serving or consumption of liquids.

This yellow and brown glazed pitcher with side-placed handle is circa 19th century. It is French (possibly produced by Mielle Frères [brothers] of Radonvilliers).

Dimensions are 6.5" in height, not including the lid; 4" across the lip of the pitcher; and 4" across the base/underside of the pitcher.

*****CONDITION: Please note the piece is old and has a crack, chips and overall crazing. Please see below for more details:
*****The fourth photo shows most prominently the crack near the lip of the spout.
*****The third photo shows damage to the rim of the pitcher in the way of missing glaze that has chipped or flaked off.
*****The fifth photo shows extensive wear and a darkened patina to the underside of the pitcher.
*****The seventh photo shows chipping around the top edge of the lid.
*****The ninth photo shows an inscribed "S," the maker's mark, and chipping to the underside of the lid. Do examine the photos carefully and please let me know if you would like more as I'll be happy to oblige.
