French Benitier (Holy Water Font) Triptych with Painted Porcelain Inset of Virgin

This circa 1850 benitier (French holy water font) is a triptych with two metal (chiseled gilded copper) panels that open and one stationary panel with a painted porcelain oval of the Virgin Mary. The backing is wood covered with fabric.

Dimensions are 13 cm height and 9 cm width with the wood backing 1 cm in thickness.

*****Condition: Please note that this benitier is almost 175 years old and there is considerable wear, especially to the material covering the wood backing. Also, the metal exhibits wear in the form of scratching and discoloration. I've not attempted to clean this font but will leave this up to the discretion of the new owner.
