WWI Era, Bon Pour Les Filles (Good for the Girls), French Soldier's Conscription Badge/Pin

$45.00

Bon Pour les Filles (Good for Girls) means the soldier wearing this badge has been conscripted into the French military and is fit to serve during the WWI era (1914-1918). The soldier might have worn this on his jacket lapel or hat. Some other pins might just say "Bon," meaning "Good," or "Good for Service" (Bon Pour le Service). Some of the black and white pictures at the top of the badge may depict a woman and man but others, like this one, depict the soldier at his medical check-up to declare he is fit for service. This particular one shows the conscript alongside a height chart.

Thank you to https://www.leblogantiquites.com/2011/12/bon-pour-les-filles.html for the valuable information and photos.

The badge measures 1 ⅞" x 2.25", not including the pin. The bomb hanging below the badge measures 1.5" in length. The badge and bomb are comprised of a thin metal.

*****Condition: Please know the badge has significant wear and color loss to the badge portion and to the bomb. The picture at the top of the soldier being checked by medical personnel has some wear. Please examine the photos carefully and do let me know if you need more as I'll be happy to oblige.

Thank you for looking.
