This folding carpenter's ruler is approximately 39 ½" in length (9 ½" when folded), which is equal to approximately 1 meter. It was produced by Lepeyre et Cie. The company, defunct as of 2013, began in 1931 with a shop in Paris. They opened a shop in Aubervilliers in 1958, and the name changed to Menuiseries Lepeyere in 1990 so this ruler was manufactured between 1958 and 1990.
Please note there is a marked patina, wear and discoloration owing to age and usage. It appears to be made of wood, as evidenced by the visible grain. This ruler was procured a the Marché aux Puces de Vanves.
