Handmade Doll's Dress, Circa 1930s, from France

This handmade doll's dress is from France and consists of a smooth silk-like material with a slight sheen. I do not know the exact composition of the material. There are ruffle and lace embellishments. I was told the dress was made circa 1930s. However, the style itself is older, dating to the 1800s. There are three silver snaps and one black snap fastening the back of the dress. There is a generous ruffle at the neck as well as a ruffle along the dress's hem. There are lace embellishments on the wrists of the dress as well as lace below the neck ruffle and down the placket of snaps. There is also a lace apron, which has a small stretchy inset below the waist on the front center of the dress. (See tenth photo.)

The measurements (taken when all snaps are closed) are as follows: The waist measures 3.5" across. From shoulder to shoulder, the measurement is 4". Neck to bottom skirt ruffle is 15" The hem is 10.75" across.

*****Condition: Please examine the last three photos. The eighth photo shows an unstitched area at the seam of the skirt portion of the dress. This can be stitched. The ninth and tenth photos show a torn area at the upper left (back) portion of the torso, to the left of the lace embellishment. This might be able to be mended with fusible bonding web, but I cannot be certain and will leave this up to the discretion (and expertise) of the new owner.
