Art Deco Wooden Box with Metal Embellishments Featuring Cockfight

This wooden box from France is embellished with metal (lightweight, possibly tin) designs featuring a cockfight and Art Deco-style decor. I believe the box might have been intended for cigarettes but I cannot be certain. The dimensions are 8 ¾" x 4 ¼" x 2" with a depth of 1 ¼". The box has an inner lid that has a metal band and another metal piece (Maybe cigarette holder and match strike?) that closes down over the main two compartments that also have the same metal pieces as seen atop the inner lid.

*****Condition: Please note there is a damaged corner at the lower right lid edge as seen in the last photo. Also, please see the eighth photo and the larger hinge on the left side. There is a small strip of wood that is loose, directly above the hinge. I don't believe it will loosen further, and it does not impact the hinge's function. Next of note: The metal band on the inner lid is malleable and has bends and pitting. Finally, the metal embellishments are anchored with small nails, and there is one missing just above the neck ruff of the rooster on the left side.
