Thank you to http://paintedsignsandmosaics.blogspot.com/2012/09/creme-eclipse-lille.html for the information on Crème Éclipse, which was founded in 1881 in Lyon by Société Générale des Cirages Français. The company was acquired by Lion Noir in the 1940s.
These metal and glass advertising mirrors measure 2" across; depict anthropomorphic celestial bodies (which appear to be two moons); and the description "Cirage a la Cire," which means wax polish. They're circa 1910s.
*****Condition: Please note the front of each has normal wear from use, and the reverse (mirror) of each has spots/darkening around the edge. The spots are more evident on the first mirror. Also, the perimeter of the first mirror has dents, presenting as an uneven border around the mirror. However, this does not compromise the structure of the piece. Please don't hesitate to ask for more photos as I'll be happy to oblige.
