French Sketchbook, Circa 1940s-1950s, with Scenes from France, Switzerland, Italy, Scandinavia; Flowers/Plants; Portraits; and Misc. Objects

This vintage sketchbook from France features 27 pages of pencil sketches with one in color. The remainder of the book's pages are blank. There are titles as well as dates with some scenes being in France while others are in other countries. Flowers, portraits and everyday objects are sketched. The book measures 6 ⅞" x 4".

The front cover of the book has the stamp "Carnet Croquis," the style of sketchbook by Canson and Montgolfier. The company's stamp is inside the back cover, as seen in the last photo. There is also penciled writing on the front cover that, translated, reads:

Our travel art, written in 2002, revised and repaired, with Sybille and Apollinaire.

This is puzzling since the drawings date to the 1940s and 1950s.

*****Condition: Please note the book has wear, especially to the front and back covers. The white strip of adhesive protecting the The front cover has a splotch of paint on it, and the pages have some discoloration.
