Rare, Antique, Wooden, Kings of France Puzzle, Circa mid-1800s, for Display or Restoration

$225.00

Rare, French wood puzzle of the kings of France from Pharamond (420) to Charlemagne (814), circa mid to later 1800s. Possibly produced by A. Lion of Rue St. Martin, Paris. See https://www.jeuxanciensdecollection.com/les-puzzles.html.

I have another puzzle for sale with later French kings beginning with Louis the Pious (814) and ending with Philippe V dit le Long (1322).

Dimensions: 14.25" x 9.5". Because of the age and fragility of the puzzle, I recommend it being used only for display. The puzzle consists of paper adhered to wood.

PLEASE READ*****Condition*****: Please note there is staining and discoloration to the puzzle. Also, there are missing "tabs" or "inter jambs" as these pieces are called. The spaces are called "blanks." The missing pieces may have portions of the kings' names and dates of reign on them so as to obscure some of the individual kings' names and dates of reign. Also, owing to the puzzle's fragility, there may be tabs that will become unattached when pieces are removed from the overall puzzle. That is, they may already have damage and may break if the puzzle were to be disassembled. The puzzle borders have some damage to them in the form of wear and some tearing of the paper, and there is some rippling to the paper overall. Please examine the puzzle in its entirety and do let me know if you need more photos as I'll be happy to oblige.

Your puzzle will be mailed flat in one piece.

Thank you for looking.
