This card is pre-1905 when France used the front side for correspondence, even if it meant writing on the side with the photo or drawing, and the back side exclusively for the address. Also, the back attests to an earlier production date circa 1880s when the directive "Ce côté est exclusivement réservé à l'adresse" was used. Also note the generous use of white space on the front for correspondence.
