**Please note that any aqua tone in the gold tone trim of the case or appearing on the back or inside of the case is from the shirt I was wearing when I photographed this cigarette case.
This Stratton of England Empress cigarette case is probably circa 1970s. It comes with its original box and a slipcover case. Please note that the inside of the slipcover is deteriorating and probably shouldn't be used.
The case's dimensions are approximately 4.25" x 3.25".
The front is black with a pheasant and floral motif.
The back is a gold tone basketweave design and has black specks that I can't remove. Viewed through a loupe, they almost look like paint, but I'm not certain. There is also a thin scratch of approximately a little less than 1" emanating from one of the black specks. It's difficult to see unless the compact is tilted in a certain light.
The inside of the compact is in very good condition with the imprints Stratton and England as well as a patent registration number on the spring portion that holds cigarettes in place.
