This inkwell is vintage but I am unsure of the time of production. It was made in Portugal, as the mark on the bottom attests and made in the style of inkwells from the 18th century. The mark SEC XVIII is indicative of the latter. I am not certain what the other marks mean other than "Made in Portugal." I cannot make out the words under this nor can I deduce the symbol above this. A-300 appears below the century mark.
Dimensions are 6.50" x 3.75" with a depth of approximately 2". The feet are approximately 11/16". The pots are approximately 1 12/16" across the opening and 1 3/16" across the base. From the lip to the base, they measure 2" and could probably be filled 1.25".
There are four holes in which to insert fountain pens, nib first.
The piece does not have any chips, cracks or crazing but does exhibit some fading in color around the rim of one of the ink pots as the blue is of a lighter shade than the blue of the other ink pot.
*Please note that your inkwell will be sent via Priority Mail. Any difference of $1.00 or more that you may have overpaid in shipping fees will be refunded to you upon shipment of your inkwell.
