Japanese Traditional Mask-Dance Doll with Six Masks

I'm not dating this doll as being anything but vintage since I cannot be certain of the time period this particular doll was produced.

The doll's head, hands, and feet as well as the painted masks are composition and his eyes are glass. One of the hands can be removed and replaced. There is a piece of wire onto which the hand slides. It could probably be secured permanently. Please examine the third, fourth and fifth photos to view the sides of the doll's face. I do have a photo of the back of his clothing, which is in fine condition, but I was unable to post this since I wanted to give an accurate representation of the condition of his head and of the masks.

Four of the six masks are in good condition although there is chipping, cracking and paint loss on the Okame. Also, the Tengu has some paint loss and flaking on his chin. The lid's paper label is wrinkled and stained in some areas. Also, three of the fabric caps that were once secured to the masks have come off. They are included in the sale, and can be re-attached. The caps slide onto the doll's head so that he wears the mask of your choice, as seen in the first photo. If you'd like more photographs, please let me know and I'll be happy to oblige.

The doll is approximately 6.75" without taking into account the stand on which he is displayed.
