This vintage whisk broom may have been used to sweep crumbs from a table or brush lint from clothing. It is more than likely circa 1920s-1930s. The Japan mark along with the era of this broom's height of popularity date this as being from this time period as well.
Thank you to Gas Lamp Antiques (http://www.gaslampantiques.com/magazine/features.php?article=147) for the information on half dolls and half doll whisk brooms.
There are no chips or cracks and doll appears to be in good condition. The new owner may want to clean her, but I've left her as is for you to decide. She measures approximately 5 6/8" from her bonnet to the bottom of the bristles and approximately 3 1/8" around the cotton portion.
I believe this broom may've had something around the cotton portion below the doll's waist and above the red tie but I cannot be certain.
Thank you for looking.
