This small covered casserole dish by the French manufacturer Pillivuyt is more than likely from the fourth quarter of 1983, according to the Pillivuyt USA president. The pattern appears to have been especially created for a customer, according to Pillivuyt's French branch. The distinctly Art Deco design is cranberry against a white porcelain. There looks to be a stylized "M" on each "side" of the oval dish.
The base measures 4 1/2" x 3". The opening measures 5 1/4" x 3 5/8". Depth is 1 1/2". Even though small in size, this dish is substantial in heft, weighing in at a little over 12 ounces. It is a solid piece with no chips, cracks, breaks, or crazing.
