This scalloped, footed (three) porcelain bowl is marked "JAPAN" on the underside. According to a leading authority on Asian wares (www.gotheborg.com), items marked Japan without company marks are, "in general," from the period immediately following WWII so I am dating this piece as being circa 1940s.
Please examine the photos and notice areas of wear, particularly to the gold trim. The gold area directly below the rim of the bowl is decorated with moriage.
Bowl is approximately 6.25" across from scallop to scallop and approximately 3.25" in depth.
