Sorry, this item has sold.

This could very well be antique, but I am listing it as vintage as I am not 100% certain as to its age.

This is a box made of metal with silver inlay/piquet (or piqué). The style is known as bidriware, which originated in the town of Bidri, which was part of the state of Hyderabad but is now part of the state Karnataka. Some believe that the origins of this art form lie in Iraq or Iran before moving to India.

I believe the silver inlay is actual silver as it polishes up nicely, but it's not been tested. The motif appears to be Mughal inspired.

The box has a small chip to the lid, as seen in the fourth photo.

Dimensions are 3 ¼" x 1 ¾" x ½".

Your box will be mailed via Priority Mail and fully insured.

Thank you for looking.
