This Japanese Fukagawa-sei vase has persimmons (symbols of longevity and good luck in Japan) and leaves in raised relief.

Fukagawa Seiji was founded by Fukagawa Chuji (1871-1934) who was the second oldest son of Fukagawa Eizaemon. The company exported "highly prized" porcelain wares to Europe and America. The mark "Fukagawa-sei" is the name of the company appearing under Mt. Fuji and a stream or only Mt. Fuji. This mark was used ca. 1900 - 1920.

6 ½" height from lip of vase to base with tape measure hanging
straight down and not conforming to the curve of the vase
17" circumference at midpoint of body of vase
