This artist's paint box contains used watercolor cakes, including one that has been pieced together as shown in the last photo. Watercolor cakes such as these were imprinted with a company's logo and sometimes the color name on the other side.
Porcelain palette dishes are also included.
I'm estimating this piece as being from the late 1800s.
The exterior of the box looks to be hand-carved with a picture placed in the center of the box. Please note the picture has water damage to it as does the interior lid paper, and also please note the crack in the wood on the bottom of the box.
Dimensions are 10.5" x 5.75" x 1.5".
