This barrette was purchased in the Marais district of Paris and is presented on its original card bearing "Made in France" and "fait main," meaning "handmade."
It measures approximately an inch across and is plastic embellished with sparkling faux stones and tiny silver studs.
Please note the depression at the edge of the barrette as seen in the seventh (last) photo. I believe this is from the clasp being attached to the back of the piece. The depression is visible in a certain light and at an angle but is, overall, not noticeable when worn in the hair. The clasp works well and closes firmly.
