This Limoges cobalt blue porcelain box depicts a courting couple, in a style known as Fragonard, from the painter who popularized 18th century court life and who often depicted courting couples in his work.
The box has no chips, cracks or crazing,but there is a spot of gold loss to the (viewer's) right of the most central flower on the lady's gown. The other gold embellishments are intact and the piece is signed on the front in the lower right hand corner.
Dimensions are approximately 4 ½" x 2 ½" x 1".
