Sterling Silver, Victorian Era Ink Blotter Roller

This ink blotter/roller has a sterling repoussé handle and is 5" long from the roller to the tip of the handle.

The handle is marked "sterling" on both sides and does exhibit damage to one side at the uppermost portion in the form of denting and scratching as clearly seen in the fifth photo close-up. Please compare with the sixth photo, which shows the other side of the handle without this denting and scratching. The blotting material is worn, torn and stained from use. I do believe it can be replaced if one desires to use this piece instead of simply displaying it.

The metal portion that holds the roller is not sterling. I did not polish or attempt to clean this piece but will leave it up to the new owner.
