The circumference of this metal globe with a round, zodiacal base is 19.25". The base measures 6" across and the height is approximately 10". I'm dating it as being circa 1920s because of the following:
Siam became Thailand in 1939.
Peking became Beijing in 1949.
Palestine became Israel in 1948.
Persia became Iran in 1935.
Urga became Ulaanbaatar in 1924.
Christiania became Oslo in 1924.
So, the earliest date I can surmise that it was manufactured would be 1923.
Please note the condition issues. There are soiling and rust as well as some pitting. The rust is particularly noticeable on the axis and on the base depicting the months, seasons, zodiacal signs, equinoxes, and solstices. The pitting appears most evident on the base near the rust.
There are rubs to the metal and there are some indents. The first of these indents is shown in the second and fourth photos right at the tip of Italy's boot. The next of these is shown in the fifth photo between the "o" and "r" of "North Pacific Ocean." There are two more right near Seward and to the northwest of Seattle in photo six.
The rubs to the metal are evident in the ninth photo as well as in certain areas on other parts of the globe as shown in the other photos. Please do let me know if you would like more photographs as I'll be more than happy to oblige and, in doing so, provide more detail as to the condition of the globe.
I've made no attempt to clean the globe but will leave this up to the discretion of its new owner.
