This brass Dartmoor Pixie paperweight was probably made by the Pearson Page Company of Birmingham, England. In operation in the early 1900s, the company was absorbed by another in 1933. I'm dating this piece as being circa 1920s. Please see last photo for "England" mark on back of base.
The Dartmoor Pixie has a long, illustrious past, first appearing in William Crossing's Tales of the Dartmoor Pixies. The original incarnation of the word "pixie" was "piskie," and you may find references to "piskies" as well as "pixies" if you research the Dartmoor Pixie.
Crossing wrote:
Among the superstitious bygone times which still linger on Dartmoor, the ideas regarding the pixies are undoubtedly the most interesting and romantic. Although the faith of the peasantry in the ability of these ‘little people’ to exercise control over their domestic arrangements is less firm than yore, yet a notion still prevails that ill-luck will certainly overtake the hapless wight who is so unfortunate as to offend any of these diminutive elves.
Thank you to Tim Sandles of http://www.legendarydartmoor.co.uk/dartmoor-piskies.htm for the wealth of valuable information on these creatures.
