This antique, Art Nouveau era tile with its organic flourishes (style hallmarks of this era) measures 3/8" thick and is 5 3/4" square. It dates to the late 1800s, early 1900s.
The tile does have wear on all four side edges with the most pronounced wear shown in photos nine and ten. (Please let me know if you would like photos of the two sides not shown. I'll be happy to oblige.) Surface wear, significant crazing and chipped edges are also condition issues present on this tile marked Villeroy & Boch, Mettlach, Mosaikfabrik. The company was founded in the 1700s and is considered of French and German provenance.
