This composition and cloth doll is dated 199_? and was made by artist Donna Gilbert, who started Miss Fannie Turgeon's in 1986. Gilbert's creations were showcased at the Museum of Folk Art in NYC and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
Marks include the German mold mark, "Fannie Turgeon" to the left of the mold mark, and "Donna Gilbert" and the year written on the cloth body.
The doll is made to look old and has significant crazing and a small chip on the inside of the pinky as shown in the fourth photo. Since this area is flesh-colored, I believe it was an intentional mark. I also believe the artist used an antique doll mold to create this doll. (See the Germany mark on the back plate shown in photos eight and nine.)
Clothing appears to be handmade and consists of pantaloons, slip, and dress.
Doll measures approximately 14.5" in height.
