I'm dating the finding (of the Man in the Moon) as circa 1910s. I do believe the pin portion was attached at a much later date as evidenced by the modern, locking clasp.
From tip to tip, the hollow-backed, metal moon measures approximately 2".
This brooch is from France, but I am uncertain as to the country of manufacture as it is unmarked.
